I used to marvel when my little dog woke up. She would stand up, shake herself all over, and that tail would start wagging away as she happily greeted her day. I on the other hand, would fight to open my eyes and keep them open, grumbling for coffee and wishing I could go back and finish the great dream I was having.
Everything in her life was exciting. Going out for a walk would put her over the edge. Chasing rabbits in the back yard, getting her dinner, watching me looking at my smart phone....everything was new and exciting to her.
Every day is a brand new day for a dog. They don't need affirmations and slogans; the simply live it.
You might be thinking of a thousand different things, worrying over bills, or planning you day, but a dog takes each day, no each moment, as it comes. They don't live in the future; they don't live in the past, so they are free to enjoy each and every moment. And they do! They go to sleep tired at night from the adventures of each day and wake up joyous and ready to seek adventures in the new day.
I think we could learn a lot from our dogs!
